Worship and Music Mission 

Statement of the Committee: Worship is the center of Church life; it is the unifying event in the life of the congregation, as well as our most significant outreach to the public. 

 The Worship and Music Committee’s mission is to coordinate with the pastor, music leadership, and other committees of the church to provide meaningful worship that is pleasing to God. 

Description or Listing of Responsibilities of this Committee:

 • Preparing the sanctuary for worship (including scheduling and training of sanctuary guild position). 

 • Ordering flowers and maintaining the flower calendar. 

 • Overseeing the worship banners. 

 • Decorating for the holidays.  

 • Maintaining supplies for worship services. 

 • Assisting with worship bulletins - parish Secretary 

 • Coordinating with music leaders for regular and special services. 

 • Submit and oversee a budget for worship and music supplies including the maintenance of the pianos, organ, and bells. 

 • Oversee the preparation and service of communion-dates, type, elements, and servers. 

 • Arrange for guest ministers, as needed. 

List of Activities/Events for this Committee (If appropriate, include flow/dates of activities/events according to the program year (September-August): Seasons of Advent and Christmas (communion on first Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve, decorating the sanctuary) Baptism of our Lord in January (communion) Seasons of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter (communion on the first Sunday of Lent and Eastertide, Ash Wednesday Service, Maundy Thursday or Good Friday service, decorating the sanctuary for Easter, outdoor svc)  Pentecost or Trinity Sunday (communion),
